Jeff’s Restaurant and Bar | Oak Creek, WI

To my mind the only thing better than a townie bar is a ‘Sconie bar, and three things Wisconsinites love are the Packers, drinking and eating. Jeff’s takes care of all three. We had arrived at my in-laws a few days before Christmas, and before I even had my shoes off my wife’s stepdad asked me if I wanted to go to a bar to watch the Monday Night Packers/Bears game.

Jeff’s seems to sit around 15 people and they all know each other. The Packers were leading when we got there so the bar was in a good mood (except for Jeff, a Bears fan, who eventually had reason to gloat when the Pack blew it in OT). I had barely gotten comfortable on my stool before someone else paid for my beer, I played and lost a round of bar dice, entered my name in a pool, and had a shot on the house thanks to a Packers touchdown. Towards the end of the night I was given a shot of Crown with a pineapple juice chaser, which was excellent. The guy who bought it for me, and half the rest of the bar, had no idea where he discovered this combination, but it’s worth remembering.

The lesson here, as always, it pays to be with a regular.
