Black Duck Tavern & Grille | Lincoln Park, Chicago
I have a problem. I think things are closer than they are. I think everything I want to get to is within four blocks of wherever I currently am.
Ben and I had been drinking closer to Webster, when I suggested we head to the Black Duck. I was pretty sure it was around Armitage, two blocks south. It is closer to North, six blocks south. And six blocks east of where we were. Woops.
So we had to stop. I’m not entirely sure where, but it took two bladder cycles to get to the Black Duck, one of which I spent in the back alley of a bar within arc of a church. Woops, again. Ben was heading to Indiana, so it seemed like an appropriate time to drink it up in Chicago.
The Black Duck has a bit of a boat vibe, with j-class models behind the bar, competent bartenders, and a bit of an odd crowd. I like it. There are also couches. You could spend the night here. Or the entire afternoon.
